Crocodile Tears for Women's Safety
The President is saddened and disheartened. The Prime Minister shares these feelings of sorrow and frustration. The Chief Minister is so overwhelmed with grief and despair that she has vowed to extend Bengal’s turmoil to Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Delhi. They are all distressed by the fact that women's safety in the country remains unachievable. Women continue to suffer the most heinous forms of violence.
It’s ironic that those who are supposed to ensure the safety of women and society at large are themselves expressing sorrow and disappointment over the atrocities against women, yet these crimes not only persist but seem to be increasing. This could only happen in India.
Adding to the irony, while everyone is united in condemning the violence against women, they are simultaneously fighting among themselves over the same issue. The question arises: if everyone—from the Trinamool Congress, BJP, Congress, Left, to the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Chief Minister—shares the same grief, anger, and determination to take action against the culprits and prevent such incidents, why are they all at odds with each other?
